Near Mint Vintage Jaeger LeCoultre Solid 9ct Gold Wristwatch 1952 with Original Box & Papers! In solid 9ct gold it is in nearly mint condition and is very attractive with stylized teardrop lugs. Introduced in 1945 the P478 was made entirely in house by Jaeger LeCoultre and was regarded as the Rolls-Royce of the brands output. The same unit was also supplied to elite house Vacheron Constantin who signed it with their own name and offered it as their Chronometre Royal. Everything about this watch is original, including the plaque gold buckle which is on an almost new genuine leather strap. The case measures 33mm diameter and bears full British hallmarks for 9 carat gold with the date letter for 1952 and the Birmingham assay office anchor mark. Made for Jaeger LeCoultre by Dennison it is of superb and heavy quality. Dennison also created the gold cases for UK market Rolex and Omega watches at the time. As if all this was not enough it comes with its original Jaeger LeCoultre advertising where the owner has penned his ideas for the design as this is no standard combination of case, lugs, dial and hands!
