The Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic is, in my view, one of the most elegant tool watches ever made. Designed to withstand high magnetic fields and introduced in during the International Geophysical Year that ran from July 1957 to December 1958, the Geophysic was introduced primarily in steel with a very small number made in gold.
This one is in outstanding condition with a beautiful dial and crisp 18k yellow gold case. This watch has the original and extremely valuable Sputnik box and a Jaeger-LeCoultre Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1959, has a manual-wind movement (Caliber 478BWSbr made by Jaeger-LeCoultre), and is 35mm in diameter. The item "Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic reference E168 Gold circa 1959" is in sale since Friday, March 20, 2020.
